As SpongeBob SquarePants is Nickelodeon's perpetual cash cow, it isn't surprising that the show continues appearing in various venues to this day. The channel's parent company ViacomCBS often includes a SpongeBob float in the annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade alongside properties like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Blue's Clues , and it even introduced a new SpongeBob balloon in 2019. That's not to mention the SpongeBob SquarePants movies and spin-off shows that are cropping up following creator Stephen Hillenburg's death in 2

This next aspect is likely the thing players transferring from Smash Ultimate to NASB will struggle the most with, and it's the fact that light and heavy attacks are separated into two different inputs with All-Star Br

That said, that are still other control complaints that haven’t been addressed yet, such as not being able to "lock" a control scheme to a specific character slot or name, as well as not being able to set multiple inputs for one action, such as having both triggers function as the "Defend" input and so on. The control options in NASB , at least this early on, leave a lot to be desired, but this will likely get fixed, given enough t

But, day one pros at the game know that the "Defend" actually blocks on both sides, at least for upward, downward, and dash attacks. Neutral Light Attacks and Strong Attacks still go through if they hit the opponent from behind. But, as long as it’s clear what side the attack will hit on, and what kind of attack it is, this is a good little trick to integrate into your the player’s style of p

The developers of NASB have been so incredibly vocal both in interviews and on their Discord server for the game. They’ve answered so many fan questions and made it clear that they care about this game, long-term. And, one of the most commonly occurring questions has to do with "Tap-Jump", and this has been answered by Ludosity many times by now. Basically, because NASB uses a digital input system, rather than an analog one, Tap-Jump isn’t currently possible to add, but they are looking for a workaro

Next up let’s talk about NASB’s stages. Now, all of the stages in this game obviously reference the shows the playable characters within the game come from. Stages such as The Loud House, Catdog’s House, or even The Flying Dutchman are all pretty clear about what show they’re from, while stages like The Dump and Powdered Toast Trouble are a bit less immediately clear about what show they're referenc

If this were to be fixed, players are hoping that these two animations would have more differences, or would be completely different animations altogether. On top of that, there are some characters ( again, Ren & Stimpy ) who have a lot of very "disjointed" animations, without much, if any, transition between t

This next fix, if it happens at all, is still a long way off. Once again, the game just came out, and the devs are probably having a hard time just trying to make sure every platform is running well in-between future DLC characters getting datamined. But, when they get the choice, budget, or the time, cleaning up the animations for some characters and lessening the recycling of certain moves or animations would do a lot to make this game feel more "polish

But, in NASB, while it does look clunkier, none of the characters have this jumping startup, meaning that those couple of frames saved can be used to unleash attacks faster. Again, it doesn’t make a huge difference, but utilizing this does make short-hop attacks and wavedashing feel better over

Unlike other popular Nickelodeon cartoons such as The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron, Boy Genius , SpongeBob SquarePants has also continually released new video games past what would have been considered its prime. Mobile games like SpongeBob: Patty Pursuit came out as recently as May 2020 . However, things really took off again for the character with SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle For Bikini Bottom - Rehydrated , a remake of the fan-favorite 3D platformer from 2

As a rushdown character, Michelangelo fits really well into the fast-paced, aggressive gameplay of Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl Stars beginner Guide . Being slow is usually a detriment in fighting games, as speed allows players to better punish opponents and evade projectiles. This is especially the case for Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl 's gameplay , which rewards quick button smashing more than anything else. Michelangelo not only has the pace to chase opponents, but his moves themselves come out surprisingly fast given their large hitboxes. This is especially true for his neutral air, which is perhaps Michelangelo’s best m

But, Smash Ultimate takes this another step entirely with its "World of Light" Story Mode that almost entirely changes the standard of what a fighting game story mode should be like, making NASB's already sort of "barebones" Arcade Mode seem more sparse in compari
